I had a couple of chances to meet him. All I did was stand a couple dozen feet away and stare. What was I going to say? "You're great. Your work meant a lot to me when I was a kid. It still means a lot to me. You were every America kid's rabbi. I wish Marvel had treated you better." I chose not to say the things I figured a million other people had already said to him and instead said nothing at all. I wish I'd piped up.
Ashley Holt hides from mainstream culture in rural South Carolina. He has no television, no cell phone or mobile device, never listens to the radio, never shops at the mall, and the last video game he played was Ms. Pac Man. Yet the teeming onslaught of corporate culture he seeks to avoid still manages to find him. And that’s when he starts whining.
Ashley is also an illustrator, a claim that can be verified at www.ashleyholt.com.
