As you can see, a considerable amount of distortion resulted from my long 'n skinny portrait of Bill Burroughs being crammed into an 8 1/2 x 11 cover for Beat Scene. Ordinarily I'da cursed a blue streak about it, but in this case, I felt the squashing actually improved the likeness a good deal. (I sometimes try a little digital squash and stretch myself when trying to get Linda Lavin to look less like Peter Tosh or some such.) Plus the publication itself is exceedingly hip, and I think the cover as a whole is pretty fetching. Thanks to Kevin Ring and the fine folks at Beat Scene.
